Homemade Recipe for Skin Lightening with Lactic Acid

Lactic acid for skin whitening creams can affect sensitive skin which may get exposed to the harsh rays of the sun. Lactic acid peel for hyper-pigmentation needs to be considered.

No doubt the sunlight is the best natural source of vitamin D, but excessive exposure can cause much damage to one’s skin. 

Skin cancer is of major concern. Too much exposure to the sun does cause darkening of one’s skin complexion and also does lead to dark spots. 

Here are 2 easy homemade skin whitening cream recipes:

Recipe 1: Lemon Skin Whitening Cream for Oily Skin

Lemon juice happens to be a naturally rich source of vitamin C, which can indeed benefit one’s skin by slowing down the cells that are indeed responsible for producing melanin in one’s skin. This does help prevent the skin from tanning or darkening.

Yogurt is high in lactic acid, which does help exfoliate as well as lighten the skin complexion. Lactic acid for the skin is necessary to keep it healthy.

Rosewater can rather calm inflammation in the skin, which does help reduce any redness.

Required items:

  1. Lemon juice: 15 ml (1 tablespoon); freshly squeezed.
  2. Plain yogurt: 250 grams (one cup); unsweetened & unflavored.
  3. Rosewater: 2 to 3 drops. 

How to prepare it at home?

  1. Mix the lemon juice as well as yogurt (amounts as mentioned above) in a small bowl. Then stir the content thoroughly until a person gets a well-blended concoction.
  2. Once the yogurt, as well as lemon juice, are mixed, add 2 – 3 drops of rose water. Then again stir the mixture well until the three ingredients are well blended.
  3. Plain yogurt: 250 grams (one cup); unsweetened & unflavored.
  4. Rosewater: 2 to 3 drops. 

Method:

  1. Mix the lemon juice and yogurt (amounts as mentioned above) in a small bowl. Stir the mixture thoroughly until you get a well-blended concoction.
  2. Once the yogurt and lemon juice gets mixed, add 2 – 3 drops of rose water. Again do stir the mixture well. Then ensure the three ingredients are well blended.
  3. The cream needs to be transferred into an airtight container such as a jar with a lid. As the yogurt does turn bad if kept outside, it is better to store the cream in a refrigerator. It remains fresh for one to two weeks if kept inside the refrigerator. But do discard it if there is any mold.

Lactic acid peel for hyper-pigmentation cannot be negated.

Recipe 2: Almond Whitening Cream for Dry Skin

Almonds happen are a rich source of Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that helps prevent sun damage, causing darkening of the skin. Yogurt is high in lactic acid, and exfoliates and lightens the skin’s dark spots. Honey does contain a good amount of antioxidants, which helps prevent the skin from sun damage. Lemon juice is full of vitamin C, which also helps in preventing one’s skin from darkening.

Ingredients

  1. Sweet almonds: 5 to 6, whole unsalted
  2. Plain yogurt: 250 grams (1 cup); unsweetened & unflavored
  3. Honey: 7 grams (1 teaspoon); organic
  4. Lemon juice: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) freshly squeezed

 Method:

  1. Put 5 to 6 whole, sweet almonds in the blender or coffee grinder or a bowl of a food processor. Grind the almonds into a fine, powdery texture.
  2. Combine the ground almonds with the yogurt, honey, and lemon juice (amounts mentioned above) in a small bowl. Stir the ingredients thoroughly until they happen to be completely mixed, and the cream is ready.
  3. Transfer the cream into an airtight container such as a jar with a lid. Store the container in the refrigerator to avoid the yogurt from going bad.
  4. You can store the cream for 1-2 weeks. Any signs of mold, avoid using it.
