Because you are at home looking for the natural remedies to treat sinusitis, here is what you can do. Rather than taking those pills, try this age old remedy right from your grandma’s kitchen i.e., ginger and honey. This natural remedy to treat sinusitis at home not only helps in alleviating the symptoms of sinusitis, but also enhances the immunity.
How it works? : Ginger and honey
Ginger contains anti-inflammatory compounds that slow down the production of prostaglandins and leukotriene, compounds that trigger an inflammatory response. It also encourages the secretion of mucus and inhibits the contraction of airways thereby relieving nasal blocking.
Honey, which is antibacterial in nature, prevents the symptoms of sinusitis from worsening further. It is also rich in the phytonutrients, which increase immune function by stimulating the production of antibodies.
How to use it?
If you have nasal blocking and headache, you can try a ginger & honey mixture. And if you are feeling irritation or inflammation in respiratory tract, you can have the ginger & honey mixture.
Ginger & honey mixture: Add a medium-sized fresh ginger and 4 to 5 tulsi leaves to the glass of water. Boil all ingredients till about ½ a glass of water remains in pan. Add a few drops of the honey and drink this every morning or when you suffer from sinus pain.
Ginger & honey mixture: Make small sized tablets by mixing ginger powder with the honey and take them twice a day (preferably in morning and evening).
